Words from the artist:
Black power was at a height of unapologetic blackness in 1968.
Our leaders in the forefront were taking on the fight socially by any means necessary. The Gold fist is a black fist in the original timeless picture, but to me, their body language was worth all the gold!
In the new millennium we were distracted and our unapologetic black voices were suppressed by America’s evolution and now we’ve been triggered, towards a revolution.
This image represents what black power looks like even when you think no one will remember.
We’ve never forgotten.
Beanie Man Two, Acrylic on Canvas and Enamel. $1500
I know this guy
He was attracted to all people
They didn’t understand him
We accepted him for him
