Time has been both an opulent and decadent gift to me. My paintings in this show explore the subject of time as the most opulent of luxuries. Within our current younger generations, I see a wealth of possibilities; a wealth of potential success if invested wisely.
The “Her Crown” series elegantly depicts the luxury of time for a young woman living in America embarking on the beginning stages of adulthood. There are a lot of symbolic uses of luxury jewelry and beautiful textural elements that have been portrayed as symbols of wealth within Pop culture. During the pandemic, the exploration of how, we as global citizens, uniquely use our time, either constructively or non constructively, has been a major theme of my current work.
